Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2

Thank goodness for that. Pokemon Grey sounded like all kinds of crap, plus it means my purchase of Pokemon White was not a complete waste.

GSC were sequels to RBY, no? In fact, its original name was Pocket Monsters 2.

They were sequels to the franchise, not the games themselves, even if they carried over a number of things from originals.

Not to mention this is a continuation of Gen V (AFAIK), not a new Gen.

I questioned this too, it'd be a good way to get the 3DS into the hands of more people, apparently its' either because the whiny fanbase would explode, or releasing on DS is simply more financially viable.

Wow, I wasn't expecting this. After four generations in a row of "Release 2 versions of the same game, then later release another version that's better than the other 2 but is still the same game", they're finally doing something different. I can't wait to hear more details.

Interesting how this news was revealed internationally at the same time, rather than being revealed in Japan long before everywhere else. Remember how they were ticked off that spoiler websites like Serebii.net were posting pictures of Black & White before their release? That must've caused this international reveal.

Also, the new Kyurem forms are officially called Black Kyurem and White Kyurem. Hey, let's not get racial here.

One new feature I'd like to see in these sequels is the availability of National Pokedex Pokemon from the start, rather than making you beat the main story first.

But that was one of the best parts about the games. They were completely fresh, opposed to just mostly fresh.

I'm thinking an average ratio of 60% 5th gen, 10% 4th gen, 10% 3rd, 10% 2nd, and 10% 1st gen Pokemon per area would be a nice balance.

I wonder if the connectivity between the original BW and BW2 will allow you to transfer data of your accomplishments in the first game to the second game, and if you'll be rewarded for sticking with the same color version both times?

It would be great if it took the Mass Effect approach and the original games affect the second ones, but you can still play them without the originals.

That'd be neat, but do the Pokemon games really have deep enough plotlines to satisfy such a feature?
Hell, even in Zelda it'd be questionable.

BW actually had decent narratives, so it's possible. It would obviously not be as intricate as Mass Effect, though.

I'd love to see them expand the Team Plasma/PETA stuff, keeping the 'bad guys actually have a good cause', thing.

But as Ghetsis says himself, the whole "Pokemon liberation" scheme was bullcrap that he just made up in order to make trainers discard their Pokemon, making Team Plasma the only people with the power of Pokemon at their command. Therefore there was no good cause in the first place.

Still, the Team Plasma plot was definitely the most interesting of all the Pokemon crime organizations so far. They've come a long way since "Team Rocket is selling Pokemon illegally!". And the fact that the game's first ending actually involves combatting the villains instead of just the usual defeating the Pokemon League and becoming champion was a fun twist.
