South Korean designer Bon Seop Ku from Samsung company came up with a very unique idea along with company that we may see in future as a real mobile phone.

A water based mobile phone named as Samsung Aqua.

The Concept is based on some very neat features that may come in practical use in future.

Here's the Full story

Quote:A very futuristic and very original mobile phone was offered by South Korean designer Bon Seop Ku from Samsung company. The device is called AQUA and it looks like it really consists of water. Designer found his inspiration on a wet table, where he thoughtfully drew different figures by his finger. As a result he got a concept Samsung AQUA together with a graphical user interface and water-based display. It is assumed that the user can remove icons from the panel by simply rubbing the display with their hands. The cellphone runs on liquid type battery that apart from being eco-friendly supports the transparency of the screen as well.

What I need currently is the voice of viewers. I have done boat load of photo-manipulation before but from now onwards I want to consider all aspects before selecting a work to do. So what exactly I need is opinion from people on what they think makes an ideal photo-manipulation.
This will help me improve from the viewers perspective and to see what they want to see in a perfect photo-manipulation.

I am thirteen in exactly eight days.
I am hoping to have a Nintendo DS, and a Kymera Wand. By the way, Kymera wands can turn on/off lights, pause, stop, and play the TV, can flick through music on your iPod, etc.

Quote:So says Yoshio Sakamoto himself, esteemed co-creator of the Metroid-series. While he didn't have as much input in the Metroid Prime trilogy, he helmed the development of the most recent iteration, Metroid: Other M. And in his own words, if they were to make a sequel to it, Team Ninja would not be left out of the mix.

"I'm very grateful for the collaboration with Team Ninja coming up with Metroid Other M," he said.

He went on to say that "As far as my opinion is concerned if we are going to make something similar to Metroid Other M in the future I cannot think that it would be possible for Nintendo to make it without collaborating with Team Ninja,"

But even so, Sakamoto himself has no idea what path the next iteration of the Metroid franchise might take.

He explained that "If we are going to decide the next Metroid is going to be a linear extension of Other M then Team Ninja comes first in my mind as the partner for us to collaborate with,"

"But if I'm going to decide that it's going to be a different story for the next Metroid adventure then depending on the skills, know-how and technology that might require, Team Ninja might not be the choice for us to collaborate with."

Mandatory PS3 Update

Quote:Some firmware updates offer 3D support, others include XrossMediaBar improvements, while there are those that are more mysterious. Today's 3.42 firmware update falls squarely into the latter category. The update is mandatory for users wishing to access PlayStation Network features, "addresses security vulnerability in the system software", according to Sony's European PlayStation blog. It also follows the release last month of the PlayStation 3's first commercially available hacking device.

While Sony wouldn't confirm or deny that the v3.42 update disables the functionality of the so-called PS Jailbreak, a spokesperson issued GameSpot the following statement: "Since this is an overall security related issue, we will not be providing further commentary with regards to this case; however, as we always have we will continue to take necessary actions from both hardware and software to protect the intellectual property of the content offered on the PS3 system."

The PlayStation 3 console was hacked at the end of August by a group called PS Jailbreak, who released a USB dongle onto the international market that also allowed the public to modify the console. The hack made it possible for users to install homemade and pirated software onto the PlayStation 3's hard drive, therefore negating the need to have the original software on disc.

However, sales of the device were temporarily halted by Australia’s federal court until September 3, and then indefinitely banned in the region last week. A Justice ordered all sales and pre-orders of the device to be delivered directly to Sony Computer Entertainment, whose European and Australian arms had initiated the legal action against distributors of the device.

Both Sony's European and US PlayStation blogs are reporting that the 3.42 update is available for download now in their respective territories. Sony Europe reports no other features as part of the update, and PS3 owners will need a minimum of 168MB of free space on either the PS3 HDD or removable storage media to install it.

Yeah, so I've been feeling that my typical Subway-sub (and occasional Chinese or McDonalds meal) for Uni lunch is burning a bit of a hole in my pocket and probably isn't the perfect lunch, health-wise (Subway may have great ingredients, but it has a crapload of calories, even the 6-inches. I don't even have to mention the problems with McDonalds and Chinese food).

So, does anybody have any ideas for packets lunches?

I used to take noodles to school a lot (not the healthiest things, but they were quick and easy), but I've yet to find a place to get hot water at the Uni (there 'might' be some in the Student Centre, which I only found the other day... ehehe... I need to check to see if there's some there). If there is hot water there, then I can buy it from the supermarket for about $1, which is much nicer than the $5+ meals at the other places. I could also get a thermos, but I cbf.

Soup is the same deal as noodles. Love it, they're easy, but I need hot water. :/

I'm not a big fan of packed sandwiches - I like them fresh (like Subway, or if I've 'just' made the sandwich). However, if the flavour of the contents is pretty dominating, then I don't mind it (something like tuna or tomato, though they require other containers to take with me, or the sandwich gets soggy). I used to do this as well (make my sandwich when I was at school), but it was kinda annoying, from what I remember. Still, they were the best packed sandwiches I ever had. :/

I don't mind taking leftovers (like pasta, risotto) and stuff to Uni as well, as long as I have a container for them and can heat them up (which I haven't found a place for. Need to check Student Centre, herp derp). However, I suck at cooking, so I can't actually make it for myself (just whatever my Mum/sister/other family member cooked the night before for dinner)... :|

So, any other ideas? Mainly healthy, tasty, filling and easy-to-pack stuff. Maybe even recipes, if you have any, coz I suck at cooking.

Seeing things like puppies thrown into a running river make me think, "Don't we have laws against this stuff?"

It's really hard to say. AFAIK, animal cruelty laws only go so far. I mean the law treats an animal's life for less than a human's. :| After all, if you deliberately kill a person, you can theoretically go to gaol for 20+ years, but deliberately killing an animal may get you a fine and perhaps imprisonment for nothing longer than three years.

It's kinda sickening, if you think about it.

So, do you think the penalties should be harsher? Should it be closer to the laws against killing other humans? Why do you think this?
